Spring is welcomed with the song of the Western meadowlark and the hurried nesting of the Western bluebird. Grass Widows, Sagebrush violets, Forsythia and Grape hyacinth sprinkle the landscape with color. Cottonwood buds and Pussy willows pop open as the last of the antler sheds disappear below the opening leaves of the Arrowleaf balsam root and Lupine.
