2022, pen and ink on 9”x 12” stipple texture paper.

The peak of summer has arrived with the Solstice, and lines the roadways with the blooms of salsify, Nootka rose and California poppy. Nuthatches hang upside down from the trees with the husks of Cicadas as Fawns step gently through blue Bachelor’s buttons, Yarrow and Horstail, always avoiding the elusive Western rattlesnake. The Mosquitos are out and looking for a meal, beautiful Western Tiger Swallowtails glide sweetly by.
